My Approach
Welcome! If you're seeking a warm, open-minded, and compassionate therapist, I believe you've come to the right place. I specialize in working with individuals dealing with a range of concerns, such as anxiety, depression, relationship issues, body dysmorphia, eating disorders, sexual trauma, and unresolved historical trauma or abuse. I'm here to help you with a variety of challenges that may be impacting your life, including anxiety, stress, depression, relationship difficulties, and childhood trauma.
People seek therapy for many reasons, such as experiencing trauma or loss, feeling the effects of historical issues, or being impacted by the pandemic. Sometimes life can feel unmanageable, and it can be hard to know why. That's where I come in. As a trained and experienced therapist, I can help you accept and move through your issues, give you tools to cope with life's challenges, and help you discover a sense of freedom to live beyond what is holding you back.
My own life experiences have led me to become a therapist with a holistic view of mental health and wellbeing. I work collaboratively with my clients, using both counseling and coaching skills to promote positive, lasting change.
Relational and sexual difficulties are common and can often be challenging to work through alone. Whether you're dealing with relationship discord, loss of trust, loneliness, affairs, jealousy, or power imbalances, I'm here to help. In relationship therapy, we can explore the underlying reasons for these issues and work to develop a deeper sense of intimacy and closeness in your relationships. Psychosexual therapy can also help you address any sexual difficulties you may be experiencing, such as loss of desire, body image issues, or questions about your sexual identity. We will work together to identify your needs and develop a structured program of help that is tailored to your unique situation.
As a person-centered therapist, I approach each session with empathy, acceptance, and genuine interest in your unique experiences. Together, we will work to create a safe and supportive space where you can feel heard and understood. It's difficult to say how many sessions you may need, but on average, after about 6 sessions, it becomes clearer what is needed or just the insight that you gained in 6 sessions might be enough to end counseling.
